Quick Thinking at a Wet Silverstone
What a few days at a very wet Silverstone for the Porsche Carrera Cup last weekend.
It was a very tough day for both the drivers and the team at Century. Race 1 saw a lot of heavy rain with conditions for the drivers near impossible. Both Will and George started the race very strong. Burns worked his way through the field from P10 to P4 before an unfortunate incident resulted in him finishing P10 in class - P14 overall. Gutted for him but an amazing race nonetheless.
George also raced an impressive drive in the difficult conditions. After surviving a few nerve wracking incidents, from P7 he finished P4 in class - P5 overall. Amazing work! Happy you both made it back in one piece!
The reverse grid did not affect our positions for Race 2 so both drivers started in their respective finishing positions. Conditions were different in this race - needing a quick call from the team as to what tyres to go out in. An amazing quick thinking resulted in the perfect decision for the race and both drivers drove amazingly. Will Burns finished P4 in class - P6 overall and George Gamble finished P1 in class - P2 overall. Well done on the silverware!!
These amazing results leave George leading the championship in the Pro Classification. It’s tight but it leaves him in a great position heading into the final meeting of the season at Brands Hatch this weekend!
